Our service offers you insight into the recipes and workings of an Italian pizzeria, presented by a true Italian pizza Maestro with more than four decades of experience.

How it all started

Stefano is South African born, Italian raised.  His early childhood was spent in SA.  In 1978, his Italian parents moved back to Italy, where Stefano learnt to make pizza                       the Naples way under the guidance of Don Gennaro, Padua’s 1st Pizzaiolo.

Stefano fondly remembers how Don Gennar used to scold him for tossing the pizza in the air whilst trying to impress the girls. He told Stefano that "the circus is outside, the bench is where you work your artistry with accuracy".

  

Behind every great Italian man is a great Italian woman. Stefano and Lucia have been cooking Italian dishes together for 40+ years. Lucia comes from a lineage of strong Italian women with generations of Italian culinary secrets.

Meet the man behind the dough: Chef Stefano Zanella.

With a passion for pizza that spans across decades and continents, he delivers his knowledge and experience of creating authentic Italian pizza directly to you.

The Zanella family are so true to the authentic Italian way that almost all the key ingredients are directly from Italy or made by Italian craftsmen; like the world class Mozarella that comes from Cape Town.
